(Cincinnati, OH) - In Major League Baseball, the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Oakland A’s 6-5 at Great American Ballpark Wednesday.

Jay Bruce homered for the 24th time this season, a two-run blast in the third inning for his second home run in two-games.

Homer Bailey allowed five-runs in five and-a-third innings pitched but earned the win to improve to 7-10 on the year.

The Reds are 63-51 and have the day off before hosting the Padres tomorrow.
