(Indianapolis, IN) The Indianapolis Colts lost their preseason opener to the Buffalo Bills 44-to-20 at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday.
Quarterback Andrew Luck started the game and went 4-for-6 with 51 yards in two-series for the Colts.
The game was tied at 3-to-3 in the first quarter until Colts' second year wideout TY Hilton made a spectacular 45-yard touchdown catch with time expiring in the first. Hilton finished with 61-yards and caught all three-balls targeted at him to lead the Colts in receiving.
The Bills tied it at 13-to-13 in the second quarter when Marquise Goodwin returned a kickoff 107 yards for a touchdown. Later in the quarter, Buffalo rookie quarterback EJ Manual threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Dorin Dickerson with 17-seconds to go in the half to make it 20-to-13.
Manual was impressive in his professional debut, going 16-of-21 with 107 yards and the touchdown.
The Colts are oh-and-1 in the preseason and travel to the New York Giants Sunday. Kickoff in East Rutherford is at 7:00.
