(Los Angeles, CA) - In the American League, the Cleveland Indians beat the Los Angeles Angels 4-1 in a 14-inning marathon at Angel Stadium that ended early this morning.
Drew Stubbs hit a two-run homer in the bottom of-the-fourteenth and Jason Kipnis scored later in-the-inning on a throwing error.
Carlos Santana tied the game at 1-1 in the seventh inning by homering for the 15th time this season.
The Indians gained a game on the first place Detroit Tigers and now trail by five and-a-half games in the AL Central.
Cleveland is 68-58 and play the Angels tonight at 7:05.
