(Chicago, IL) - In the National League, the Washington Nationals recovered from a ninth inning rally to slip by the Chicago Cubs 5-4 in 13 innings at Wrigley Field yesterday.
Junior Lake drove-in a run on an infield single in the bottom of-the-ninth and Donnie Murphy followed with a two-run homer that tied the game at 4-4.
Denard Span scored the game winning run from third base in the top of-the 13th inning when Chad Tracy grounded out to the pitcher.
Nationals' starting pitcher Steven Strasburg was trying for a complete game when the Cubs came back.
Strasburg pitched two-outs in the ninth and finished with four-earned runs and struck out eight.
The Cubs are 54-73 and visit the San Diego Padres tonight at 10:10.
