(Milwaukee, WI) - Tony Cingrani struck out nine and Joey Votto hit the eventual game winning home run in the Cincinnati Reds’ 2-to-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park yesterday.
Cingrani struck pitched into the seventh and improved to 6-and-2 overall.
Votto hit a tiebreaking home run in the sixth inning, his 18th homer of the season, in giving the Reds' their eighth win in nine games.
The Reds are two and-a-half games behind the Pirates for first in the N-L Central at 69-and-52. They play the Brewers tonight at 8:10.
