(Kansas City, MO) - In the American League, Conor Gillaspie hit a leadoff homer in the top of-the-twelfth inning to lead the Chicago White Sox past the Kansas City Royals 4-3 at Kauffman Stadium last night.
Gillaspie's 11th home run of the season gave the White Sox their first sweep in Kansas City in nearly four-years.
Alexei Ramirez and Dayan Viciedo started a Chicago rally in the sixth inning with RBI singles that cut the Royals' lead to 3-2.
Josh Phegley tied the game in the seventh with an RBI double, and Addison Reed later appeared for the third straight game to convert his 34th save of the season.
The White Sox are on a six-game winning streak at 52-74 on the year, and open a home series tonight against the Texas Rangers at 8:10.
