(Chicago, IL) - In the American League, the Chicago White Sox spoiled Alex Rodriguez’s season debut for the New York Yankees in an 8-1 drubbing at US Cellular Field Monday.
Rodriguez went 1-4 and was booed by the White Sox home crowd in his first at bat in the second inning.
The three-time MVP has missed the entire season with injuries and learned yesterday that baseball was suspending him through the 2014 season because of his alleged connection to performance enhancing drugs in the Biogenesis scandal.
Rodriguez is allowed to continue playing because he's appealing the suspension.
The Sox ended a 10-game losing streak in their series opener against the Yankees.
Alexei Ramirez went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and Alex Rios had four RBIs on two-hits.
The White Sox are 41-69 and play the Yankees tonight at 8:10.
