(St. Louis, MO) - The St. Louis Cardinals ran their winning streak to five games with a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Lance Lynn and Marco Estrada dueled early in the game with the score tied at one entering the bottom of the eighth.
Carlos Beltran put St. Louis ahead to stay with a sacrifice fly.
Jon Jay would score on a throwing error before Matt Adams capped the big inning with a two-run home run off Mike Gonzalez.
The Cardinals needed the win to maintain their one-game lead over Pittsburgh in the NL Central with Cincinnati remaining two and-a-half games back.
