(Houston, TX) - The Cincinnati Reds didn’t mind working overtime Wednesday, as they pulled out a crucial 6-5 win over woeful Houston in 13 innings.
The Reds continue to hold the second National League Wild Card spot, and are just ½ game behind Wild Card leader Pittsburgh.
Jay Bruce had 3 hits and 3 RBI, including a 2-run double in the 13th that proved to be the game winner.
Rookie Billy Hamilton stole 4 bases in his first career start.
Alfredo Simon notched his 4th win of the season for the Reds, with Aroldis Chapman closing out the Astros for his 37th save.
Rookie Jorge De León took the loss for Houston, who dropped to 51-101 on the season.
