(Pittsburgh, PA) - The Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates are tied atop the National League Wild Card standings following Cincinnati’s 11-3 pasting of the Pirates Sunday.
The Reds ripped Pirates pitching for 16 hits, led by speedy rookie Billy Hamilton, who had three hits and two more stolen bases.
Chris Heisey also had three hits for Cincinnati, while Jay Bruce had two hits and 5 RBI.
Bronson Arroyo was the winning pitcher for Cincinnati, running his record to 14-11.
Jeff Locke was pounded for the loss, lasting just one inning.
Locke's record slides to 10-7 on the season.
