(St. Louis, MO) - The St. Louis Cardinals seem to be at their best, with their backs against the wall.
The Cardinals eliminated the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-1 Wednesday in game 5 of the National League Division Series.
In the last three years, the Cards are 8-1 when facing postseason elimination.
Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright went the route for the win, allowing 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6.
David Freese and Matt Adams each had a two-run homer for the Cardinals.
St. Louis now takes on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.
