(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Pacers shot just 37 percent but the stopped the Heat enough to win 84-83 Wednesday night.
Roy Hibbert started with a season-best 11 first-quarter points. The Pacers also used a 14-4 run to get up as many as nine and were ahead 23-17 in the opening quarter.
Lance Stephenson scored nine of his 15 points in the second quarter. Indiana was outscored by seven in the second quarter and managed to fight through a 10-0 run before going into halftime down, 45-44.
During the fourth quarter, Lance Stephenson got in the face of Dwyane Wade and received a technical. Earlier in the night he received a technical in the third quarter, so he was sent to the locker room for the final minutes of the game.
With seconds remaining in the matchup, George Hill was fouled and missed both free throws at the line, leaving the door open for the Heat to win the game. Chris Bosh got the ball but missed the shot.
With the win, the Pacers have clinched their second straight Central Division title and continue to lead the Eastern Conference. They move on to face Washington Friday night. Tip is scheduled for 7pm.
