(UNDATED) - Bedford North Lawrence teammates Jenna Allen and Dominique McBryde, who helped the Lady Stars win back-to-back Class 4A state championships, have been named first team All-State for 2013-14 by the Associated Press.
Allen, a 6-foot-3-inch junior who has committed to Indiana, and McBryde, a 6-2 junior headed to Purdue, each averaged right at 15 ppg for a balanced BNL team that went 27-1.
Miss Basketball Whitney Jennings from Logansport received the most votes on the girls all-state team chosen by a panel of coaches and media members. Miss Basketball runner-up Maura Muensterman, an Indiana recruit from Class 3A state runner-up Evansville Mater Dei, was second in the voting.
Xavier recruit Kindell Fincher of Fort Wayne Canterbury rounded out the girls first team.
Notre Dame recruit Ali Patberg, of Columbus North, Purdue recruit Erica Moore of Mount Vernon (Hancock), Lamina Cooper of Indianapolis Lawrence North, Tori Schickel of Evansville Mater Dei, and Allison Nash of Speedway made the girls second team.
Taylor Goodall of Columbus North, Ashley Campbell of Oregon-Davis, Sydney Buck of Homestead, Lawrence North's Ana Owens and Lauren Whitlatch of Bloomington South were on the third team. Goodall will play next season at Florida Gulf Coast, Buck has signed with Butler, and Owens is off to Cincinnati.
The boys first team All-State squad is head by Mr. Basketball Trey Lyles of Indianapolis Tech. The 6-foot-10 Kentucky recruit is joined by Park Tudor's Trevon Bluiett (Xavier), James Blackmon Jr., of Marion, and Greensburg teammates Bryant McIntosh and Sean Sellers. Blackmon is headed to Indiana, McIntosh is going to Northwestern and Sellers is off to Ball State.
