(Uncasville, CT) - The Indiana Fever had 2 top ten picks in the WNBA draft.
With the first pick at #5 they selected Florida State star Natasha Howard, who leaves the school with the most double-doubles ever recorded.
With the second pick at #9 they picked up Notre Dame's own standout forward Natalie Achonwa. She was ranked 3rd in the nation in field goal percentage.
The Fever, who lost in the east finals last year, are poised to make another deep run in the playoffs.
Also drafted from Notre Dame at the 3rd overall spot was Kayla McBride, who will play for the San Antonio Stars. The young guard averaged 17 points as a senior and helped lead Notre Dame to the championship game.
