(UNDATED) - The following is a wrapup of regional baseball matchups from Monday.
The Cincinnati Reds mustered 2 runs in the 9th but with 2 runners on base, their rally fell short, as they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals 5-3. The Reds, drop to 2-5 on the season as their offensive struggles continue.
It was a rough day for starting pitcher Tony Singrani, who lasted just 4 innings, giving up 3 runs and walking 4.
In Inter-league play, the Chicago White Sox got hammered by the Colorado Rockies 8-1. Rockies pitcher Jordan Lyles was the man of the day, pitching 6.2 innings giving up just 1 run, and batting 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Troy Tulowitski went 3 for 3 with a home-run, and 2 runs scored.
The Whitesox fell to 3-4 on the season, Felipe Paulino picked up the loss, giving up 6 runs on 9 hits, over 4.1 innings; he is still seeking his first win of the season.
The Cleveland Indians game against the San Diego Padres was postponed due to weather. Robbie Erlin will pitch for the Padres tonight, while Corey Kluber takes the mound for the Indians.
