(TERRE HAUTE ) - It may be long overdue, but Indiana icon Bobby “Slick” Leonard will finally be enshrined into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame next month.
Leonard played high school basketball in Terre Haute, college ball at IU, coached the ABA Pacers for nearly 12 years, and has been in the broadcast booth for the NBA Pacers since for decades.
Leonard's longtime broadcast partner, Mark Boyle, says "Slick" is the "single best people person" he's ever met.
Leonard is also the subject of a documentary by Ted Green. "Bobby "Slick" Leonard: Heart of a Hoosier" debuts tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
