(East Rutherford, NJ) - The Colts kick off the preseason tonight against the New York Jets.
The opening preseason game is usually just seen as the first opportunity to crack pads with someone wearing a different logo. But for young players, especially rookies, it can be a critical opportunity to make an impression.
Coach Chuck Pagano has a list of what he's looking for.
"The biggest thing is effort. Flying around, playing fast, playing tough, playing smart" Pagano said. "Play hard. Play fast. Execute. Take care of the little things. But really effort, you're looking for great effort. It shouldn't be something that when we come back on Friday and we grade this tape that we've got to talk to guys about effort."
