(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Pacers have been awarded a disabled player exception worth more than $5 million due to the leg injury Paul George suffered nearly two weeks ago.
The Pacers are not expected to use any more than $1.6 million of the exception on any player, because they aren't willing to pay the luxury tax.
The exception does not guarantee that George won't play this season, but means that doctors believe it's more likely than not that the superstar will miss all year.
