(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Capital Improvement Board in Indianapolis is moving forward with plans to upgrade Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Capital Improvement Board President Ann Lathrop says they're approving $4.7 million for two projects. Those projects include $1.5 million for new carpeting, tile and wood flooring and $3.2 million for 19 LED replacement boards.
Last spring, the CIB approved $160 million in tax money to pay for operations and upgrades at the Fieldhouse. Lathrop says about $26.5 million of that is going toward upgrades. She says they anticipate future upgrades that include heating and cooling, more flooring and elevator and escalator work.
