(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday that head coach Frank Vogel has signed a multi-year contract extension.
Per team policy, details of the contract were not released.
Vogel is entering his fourth full season as coach of the Pacers after taking over on an in interim basis in January of 2011. In his three years with the title of head coach the Blue & Gold have reached the NBA Eastern Conference Finals twice and the Eastern Conference Semifinals once with a career record of 147-82.
Vogel said about the deal "I'm excited for the opportunity to continue my tenure as Pacers' coach. It's an honor to represent this franchise and lead this team. I look forward to the challenge ahead. I'm grateful to have had good, coachable teams along with coaching staffs that have been second to none."
Vogel is expected to speak more about the extension later today as he will be available to media members after the Pacers practice session.
The Pacers continue the NBA preseason tomorrow night at home against the Orlando Magic after a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
