(NASHVILLE, TN) - Notre Dame finished off their 2014 football season with a huge upset as they stunned #23 LSU in the Music City Bowl 31-28.
The win came in the closing seconds thanks to the foot of Kyle Brindza, who launched a 32 yard field goal as time expired.
The Irish used both two quarterbacks in the victory as Malik Zaire went 12 for 15 for 96 yards, ran for 96 more yards and had two touchdowns. Everett Golson entered the game after Zaire lost his helmet a play earlier and a rule forces a player to sit out at least one play once losing their helmet. Golson went 6 for 11 for 90 yards.
The dual threat at quarterback helped set up the game winning field goal.
The Irish racked up 263 yards and three touchdowns in the running game.
Zaire was named game MVP.
