(UNDATED) - NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon announced that the upcoming 2015 season will be his last as a full time Sprint Cup Series participant.
The 43 year old racer didn't call the decision a retirement but said it's just the right time to step away from a full time schedule.
Gordon continued, saying his definition of retirement is sitting on a beach somewhere and while he doesn't plan on racing, he doesn't want to close the door on it.
Gordon is a four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title winner and is ranked third on the all-time victory list behind Richard Petty and David Pearson.
