(Indianapolis, IN) - The Colts released three players on Wednesday, most notably safety LaRon Landry, who was in the middle of a four year contract.
Landry's tenure with the Colts was a bumpy one as he never reached the expectations his $24 million dollar contract came with and his four game suspension last season for violating the performance enhancing substances policy didn't help his case.
In two seasons with Indianapolis Landry had 144 tackles but was often exposed by opposing offenses in pass coverage.
The Colts also waived linebacker Andrew Jackson, who was arrested last month for drunk driving, and tackle Xavier Nixon, who missed the team's flight to New England for the AFC Championship game.
The release of Landry frees up a little over two million dollars in salary cap space.
