(Indianapolis, IN) - The story involving the Colts suspending Trent Richardson for two games for conduct detrimental to the team just got more interesting.
Multiple reports say the running back missed the team's AFC Championship flight to New England due to his girlfriend appearing to go in to premature labor at just 28 weeks.
The reports say Richardson rushed to the hospital in the early morning to be with his girlfriend and missed the team's flight.
Rules in his contract say the Colts can void Richardson's contract and avoid paying him the remaining $3.1 million dollars he's owed but the new reports would put the team in a bad light and likely cause push back from Richardson and the NFL Players' Association.
