(Indianapolis, IN) - Pacers’ star Paul George says he wants to return to the court this season and is hoping to be practicing fully and playing by the time the calendar turns to March.
"I would love to be full on practicing, I want to play. That's the competitor in me."
Asked if he would be nervous about re-injuring himself when he plays in a game once again, George said he can't think that way.
"If I'm thinking about hurting myself then I'll sit out this whole season, no question about it."
George said the hardest part about this injury is not being able to help the team get more wins.
"We're not winning as many games as we had hoped this season and to be stuck on the bench not being able to help, it hurts."
Head coach Frank Vogel said "I'm hopeful too" when asked his thoughts on George's goal of playing this year but said he is maintaining the thought that George will not be back with the team this season.
The Pacers have a tall order against LeBron James and the red hot Cleveland Cavaliers tonight. The Cavs have rattled off twelve straight wins. Cavaliers/Pacers tips off at 7pm.
