(Indianapolis, IN) - On Thursday, the Colts cut ties with inconsistent running back Trent Richardson.
The team waived Richardson less than two years after sending a first round pick to Cleveland to acquire the former third overall draft pick. Richardson played in 29 games for the Colts rushing for only 977 yards and six touchdowns.
After the signing of free agent running back Frank Gore, Richardson became expendable.
Upon learning of his release, Richardson said his time in Indy "just wasn't the right fit". At just 24 years of age, Richardson said his next team will be his last and compared himself to Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch. "My next team is going to get my all. Hey, they doubted Marshawn Lynch for three years until he got to Seattle. Look at him now."
