(Indianapolis, IN) - A pair of scary moments at the Speedway during Wednesday’s practice session as Helio Castroneves lost control of his car and crashed into the wall causing the vehicle to go airborne and do a somersault.
Later, Pippa Mann crashed into a retaining wall on turn four before slamming into the pit wall barrier causing her to do three complete spins.
Both drivers were checked and released by the medical staff with no serious injuries.
Earlier in the day, Castoneves was penalized eight championship points for avoidable contact following the Grand Prix of Indianapolis.
Carlos Munoz ran the fastest during the third practice session at the Speedway. Munoz clocked in at 230.121 MPH. Townsend Bell was second at 228.969 MPH. Tony Kanaan, James Davidson and Sage Karam are the rest of your top five.
