(Indianapolis, IN) - In the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500 it was Juan Pablo Montoya, holding off teammate will Power in the closing laps, to win the 4th closest finish in race history.
Montoya overtook Scott Dixon after a restart on lap 197 for second position and then Will power on turn 4 for the lead; which he held to win.
It was his second win at the 500, in just 3 tries, he previously won 15 years ago, before taking a 13 year absence from Indycar. He finished 5th last year in his return, before coming out victorious this year.
It was the 16th win for team Penske, and the 11th different driver to drive down victory lane at Indianapolis
