(Indianapolis, IN) - Colts’ first-round pick, Phillip Dorsett arrived in Indy and talked about his excitement to play with one of the top offenses in the NFL.
"I'm just excited to be here. To get to play with one of the best quarterbacks in the league, be a part of one of the top wide receiving cores in the NFL and be taught by one of the top coaching staffs, its a true honor."
With many experts and fans surprised to see the Colts use their first round pick on a wide receiver, owner Jim Irsay discussed the selection of Phillip Dorsett and why the team went with offense.
"I know there was some surprise between the media and our fans and all I can say is we're so excited to have him and knew it could come down to that scenario where he was clearly the best player on the board. He's a special guy and if Al Davis were with us in the draft room he would have said, 'don't pass the speed up.'"
