(Indianapolis, IN) - It appears that David West’s time with the Pacers has come to an end.
The midnight deadline for West to send in paperwork to accept his $12.6 million dollar player option came and went with no reports of a deal being reaching meaning the veteran forward has become an unrestricted free agent.
Reports surfaced last week that West intended to pursue free agency but Pacers President Larry Bird said he had heard nothing official from West or his agent and was going with the assumption the veteran forward would opt in with the Blue & Gold.
Meanwhile, the Pacers added a trio of players to their summer league roster as Purdue's Jon Octeus, former Hoosiers forward Christian Watford and Washington State guard DaVonte Lacy will be a part of fourteen players to head to Orlando to represent the organization in summer league play. Solomon Hill, Myles Turner, Joe Young and Shane Whittington are amongst other players making the trip.
