(Orlando, FL) - Pacers president Larry Bird spoke to the media ahead of Thursday’s summer league game and laid out what he believes Paul George’s role in the re-vamped offense will be.
"Paul will play multiple positions for us this year. I'm the one who thinks he can play the 4 position. I think the mismatches on the offensive end will outweigh the defensive liabilities he may encounter."
On the court, the Pacers earned their first victory of summer league as they topped the Orlando Magic Blue team 91-85.
First-round pick Myles Turner sat out for a day of rest but second-round pick, Joe Young picked up the slack and dropped a game-high 28 points, including going 5-for-9 from three-point range.
The Pacers will get a rematch against the same Magic Blue squad on Friday at 2 p.m.
