(Indianapolis, IN) - Colts owner Jim Irsay spoke to the Indianapolis Star on a number of topics and said franchise sack leader Robert Mathis has not yet been cleared for on-field activities.
Mathis has missed the past 16 months as he recovers from a torn Achilles', but Irsay says the veteran is making progress.
"He's trending in the right direction. We're pleased with the progress he's made, but the timetable is unknown."
Mathis has said he plans to be back on the field by the time the regular season begins.
Irsay also dismissed reports that he, along with Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Biscotti, were very vocal to commissioner Roger Goodell in regards to upholding Tom Brady's full four-game suspension. Irsay said he has had "no contact at all" with Goodell since January.
