(Indianapolis, IN) - As NBA free agency opened at midnight, reports say the Pacers are “going hard” after free agent guard Monta Ellis.
Ellis is headed to Indianapolis for a meeting with Pacers officials on Wednesday. He led the Dallas Mavericks in scoring last season, averaging 18.9 points per game.
After meeting first-round pick Myles Turner over the weekend the Pacers introduced second-round pick Joe Young to the media on Tuesday.
The humble Oregon guard says he's happy for the opportunity and ready to be first in and last out.
"I'm planning on being at every practice at least and hour early and stay after every practice at least an hour later."
Young also said he is ready to fill whatever role the team needs him to play.
"I can play defense, be a vocal leader, come off the bench, shoot, whatever this team needs I'll be ready to contribute in any way I can."
