(Indianapolis, IN) - The Pacers have acquired Rakeem Christmas from the Cleveland Cavaliers for a 2019 second round draft pick.
The 6-9 forward spent his college years in Syracuse, and in his senior season he averaged 17.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.
Shortly after the trade, the Pacers reached an agreement on a four-year, $4.5 million dollar contract with Christmas.
In a press release, Larry Bird says he's excited to see what the 23-year old brings to the Blue & Gold. "He's a solid player who was a contributor all four years at Syracuse and we look forward to having him on our team."
Christmas participated in the Pacers' first pre-draft workout and was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves at #36 before having his rights traded to Cleveland.
