(Buffalo, NY) - It wasn’t the way the Colts wanted to start the season, looking lifeless in a 27-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Andrew Luck finished 26-for-49 for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Bills' quarterback Tyrod Taylor finished an efficient 14-for-19 for 195 and a score while self-inflicted penalties and turnovers helped the Buffalo defense keep the Colts' offense scoreless until the late third quarter.
After the game, Chuck Pagano said the team will overcome a tough loss.
"We didn't play the way we're capable of playing. We'll look at the tape and make the corrections. It's one game, it doesn't define our football team. This game will not define us."
Andrew Luck agreed and said there wasn't much to take away from the game,
"They made more plays than us. They did just about everything better than us. Not much really to say. They deserved to win and they beat us pretty bad."
Jim Irsay adamantly denied that a rift exists between Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson. Irsay said both have a great relationship and the rumors of a rift couldn't be further from the truth.
Irsay also dispelled reports that came out ahead of the game against Buffalo saying that Pagano was coaching for his job. With one report saying people close to the Colts' head coach "believe it's inevitable he'll be coaching elsewhere in 2016". Irsay said he was shocked to hear the reports and none of that was true in his mind.
