(Indianapolis, IN) - The Colts made their first wave of roster cuts on Monday with the most notable name being offensive guard Donald Thomas.
The oft-injured veteran signed as unrestricted free agent with the Colts back in 2013 but battled quadriceps injuries in back-to-back seasons.
Chuck Pagano said roster cuts are never a fun part of the job, especially when it comes to guys like Thomas.
"It's always tough. Especially a guy like him, who has had back-to-back season-ending injuries. You hate this part of the job and then we have to do it again to bring the roster from 75 to 53, so it gets tougher with those guys."
As the team prepares for their preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals, Pagano dismissed the idea that the final game of preseason is a throw away game.
"I think there's always a bubble guy or two since I've been in the league where a guy made the final cut based on his performance in the final game. So to say it isn't important, I'd be lying to you"
