(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indianapolis Colts have generated a lot of buzz as being one of the best teams in the game, but their overall value still falls in the middle of the pack, according to a report released by Forbes.
The Colts are listed as the 14th most valuable team in the league, worth $1.88 billion, with Forbes noting the Colts' great lease deal on Lucas Oil Stadium (Just $250,000 annually), their solid balance sheet with almost no debt and their continued run of success by making the playoffs 16 of the last 20 years as a reason for strong revenue.
The Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable team in the league, with a $4 billion price tag attached to their brand. The New England Patriots ranked second with a value of $3.2 billion, and the Washington Redskins, who haven't won a playoff game since 2005, were ranked third with a value of $2.85 billion even despite their poor performance and removing seats from their arena as a result of waning ticket demand.
The Colts edged out the perennial Super Bowl contender Seattle Seahawks, who were ranked by Forbes as the 15th most valuable team.
The NFL continues to be a powerhouse of value in sports across the world.
