(Indianapolis, IN) - Just as things seemed to be going the Colts’ way, a stunning blow as it was announced Andrew Luck will miss the next 2-6 weeks with a lacerated kidney and abdominal tear.
Luck suffered the injury in the early 4th quarter on Sunday and Chuck Pagano said in a conference call that the team will be cautious with their franchise quarterback's timetable and they have confidence in Matt Hasselbeck.
"We don't feel, at this time, that either injury will require surgery. We'll continue to listen to our doctors and evaluate Andrew week-to-week. We have full confidence in Matt Hasselbeck and we won't put Andrew out there until he's fully healthy."
In light of the injury to Luck, the team signed quarterback Alex Tanney while releasing quarterback Matt Blanchard.
Meanwhile, Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib's appeal of his one-game suspension was denied. He'll sit out Sunday's game against the Chiefs without pay after poking Colts' tight end Dwayne Allen in the eye during last Sunday's game.
