(LAHAINA, Hawaii) - A promising trip to Hawaii resulted in a 1-and-2 showing for the Indiana Hoosiers in the Maui Invitational.
On Wednesday the Hoosiers lost to UNLV 72-69 to conclude their stay in the Aloha State.
Trailing by 15 at the end of the first half, Indiana closed the gap to two at 55-53 with 8:20 left to play before the Running rebels went on a 12-1 run to extend their lead. The Hoosiers made it interesting in the end, but a late 3-pointer was partially blocked to clinch the win for UNLV.
The Hoosiers were led in scoring by senior guard, Nick Zeisloft's 17 points off the bench.
Hoosier Coach Tom Crean said the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday isn't the only thing he is looking forward to after the loss.
"I know everybody will be looking forward to the time (in Hawaii), and certainly we have Thanksgiving, but I'll be looking forward to our next practice."
Indiana looks to rebound against Alcorn State on Monday night back in Indiana at Assembly Hall. Tipoff is set for 7:00.
