(Pittsburgh, PA) - A.J. Hammons came off the bench and threw down 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to help Purdue blow past Pittsburgh 72-59.
Freshman guard Ryan Cline, made the most of his 15 minutes of playing time as he scored all 12 of his points in the second half and went 4-for-6 from three-point range.
Head coach Matt Painter called Cline "the best shooter I've ever been around," while Cline said a pep talk from his teammates at halftime got him going.
"I couldn't get anything going in the first half and in the locker room my teammates just kept telling me to keep shooting the ball."
The Boilermakers move to 7-0 and have New Mexico next on the schedule.
