(CHAMPAIGN, IL) - The unranked Fighting Illini of Illinois stunned No. 20 Purdue 84-70.
Illinois moved a game above .500 and earned their first Big Ten conference win of the season behind a monster 30-point performance by Malcolm Hill. Hill went 9 of 15 shooting and was 2 for 2 from three-point range.
At halftime the game was tied at 37 but Illinois exploded in the second half with a 47 point effort to pull away.
Caleb Swanigan and P.J. Thompson each scored 12 points for Purdue while A.J. Hammons had 10 points and 8 rebounds.
The Boilermakers are 2-2 in Big Ten conference play and next take on Penn State on Wednesday.
