(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Colts waived linebacker Jonathan Newsome following his arrest for marijuana possession last week.
Newsome thanked the organization on Twitter "for the opportunity of a lifetime." He also noted that he learned a lot during his time in Indy and says while he has made mistakes he has grown.
The 2014 fifth-round pick led the team in sacks in his rookie season but registered just one sack this past year.
The Colts also announced they had waived linebacker Andy Studebaker. Studebaker spent time with the Colts in each of the last three seasons, playing in 32 games. He was most recently signed in December to help with special teams.
