(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Colts have agreed to remove the “12th Man” from their Ring of Honor as part of a settlement with Texas A&M.
The university owns the trademark and sued the Colts back in November saying their trademark dated back to 1990.
The Colts have until August 15th to remove the phrase from the Ring of Honor and have to end any other use of the trademark immediately.
Colts Chief Operating Officer Pete Ward said in the end, it wasn't worth the fight.
"It wasn't worth a battle with the university. We will still recognize our crowd in the Ring of Honor in a manner to be announced in the near future."
