Grigson Admits To Shortcomings As Colts GM

Last updated on Friday, February 26, 2016

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Ryan Grigson didn’t hesitate to point out his shortcomings as General Manager of the Indianapolis Colts.

"I wasn't even 40 when I took this job, so I have a lot to learn. I've learned a heck of a lot." Grigson said Thursday while addressing the media during the NFL Combine.

Among the biggest focuses this off-season for Grigson, he mentioned developing the offensive line and building the defense.

Coach Chuck Pagano agreed with Grigson on many accounts, having this to say about the offensive line.

"There were a lot of other teams in the league where their quarterback went down and had a better perceived offensive line and all those types of things that are picking real high in the draft."

After much speculation of Grigson's and Pagano's job security following the 2015 season for the Colts, each of their contracts were extended through 2019.

"The thing is, I'm proud of our team, I'm proud of our organization, I'm proud of our coaching staff, proud of our players," Grigson said. "What we went through this year, with losing our quarterback and still avoiding a losing record with five quarterbacks, that's a story I don't think was ever told. Because it was tough."
