(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Colts made a pair of moves on Monday as they re-signed tight end Dwayne Allen to a four-year deal worth over $29 million.
Allen will receive $12 million in year one with $16 million in guaranteed money.
The 2012 third-round pick had 16 catches last year. No word on whether the Colts will attempt to re-sign tight end Coby Fleener, who had a career-high 54 catches last season.
Meanwhile, the Colts released quarterback Josh Freeman. He was expected to be the primary backup to Andrew Luck after the team informed Matt Hasselbeck he would not be returning.
Freeman helped the Colts earn their Week 17 victory over the Titans with fellow quarterback Ryan Lindley.
