(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Pacers made a roster move on Thursday as they added veteran free-agent guard Ty Lawson.
The 28-year old is expected to be in uniform with the team on Sunday and serve as a backup to George Hill. Lawson's contract was bought out by the Houston Rockets on Tuesday and after clearing waivers, landed with Indiana.
This season, Lawson is averaging 5.8 points and 3.4 assists in 22 minutes per game.
To make room for Lawson, the Pacers reached a buyout agreement with forward Chase Budinger, which will be finalized on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Pacers get the second half of their four-game road trip underway when they visit the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets have defeated the Blue & Gold at Banker's Life Fieldhouse twice this season, most recently on February 10 in a 117-95 rout. Pacers/Hornets tips-off at 7pm.
Myles Turner was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for February.
The Pacers' rookie averaged 13.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. He also shot 51 percent from the field and recorded his first two career double-doubles.
The Minnesota Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month.
