(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Butler and head coach Chris Holtmann agreed on a contract extension on Wednesday.
The new deal will run through the 2021-2022 season.
In two seasons as head coach Holtmann has guided the Bulldogs to a 45-22 record. He and former coach Brad Stevens are the only coaches in the school's history to lead the Bulldogs into the NCAA Tournament in each of their first two seasons.
Butler finished last season with a 22-11 record and finished fourth in the Big East, ranking in the Top 25 nationally and with three players (Kellen Martin, Roosevelt Jones, Kelan Martin) receiving All-Big East honors.
