(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Marco Andretti set the pace on opening day of Indianapolis 500 practice.
Andretti sat atop the leaderboard after posting a lap of 228.978 mph.
"It was definitely a good start for the team," he said. "I think we're really going to see how things shake out over the next few days. It's definitely a roller coaster, so we're prepared for that, but it was a good opening day."
After Andretti, teammates Carlos Munoz and Ryan Hunter-Reay posted times of 228.945 and 228.033, respectively. Rookie Alexander Rossi and Scott Dixon rounded out the top five.
