(CHICAGO, IL) - Pacers President Larry Bird said he had a list of candidates for filling the head coaching vacancy left open from Frank Vogel’s departure, but that’s as far as the coaching search has gotten.
On Thursday, Bird was asked about how the process was going and said, "Haven't started yet."
He also mentioned that he hadn't had a single conversation with an agent for a prospective coach.
Bird and Pacers management are in Chicago for the NBA draft combine. The Blue & Gold hold the No. 20 pick in the June 23 draft and will conduct interviews and workouts with prospective draft picks starting next week at Banker's Life Fieldhouse.
As far as former Pacers coach Frank Vogel, reports say he met with the Houston Rockets about their head coaching vacancy.
