(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - The Hoosiers will start their season today at 7:30pm as they will play Florida International.
Richard Lagow will be the new starting quarterback for IU. Lagow is a junior college transfer from Cisco Community College. The 6-6 quarterback also has been apart of the UConn and Oklahoma State football programs.
"Richard Lagow's gotten the bulk of the work for several weeks. He's been the (No. 1 quarterback)." IU Head coach Kevin Wilson said. "It wasn't a formal announcement that needed to be made. The team has been practicing, knows it."
Outside of quarterback play, the Hoosiers will look to improve a historically horrific defense. During the 2015-2016 season, the Hoosiers allowed 37.6 points and 509 yards per game.
New defensive coordinator Tom Allen will bring his 4-2-5 scheme with 7 returning defensive starters.
